A new pony will be burning up the drag strip with the release of a Mustang Cobra Jet that’s capable of finishing quarter-mile runs in the mid-eight-second range. The 2018 Mustang Cobra Jet was created to celebrate the 50th anniversary of this Mustang version which debuted in 1968. Ford designed it to be their fastest Mustang Cobra Jet that can be raced straight from the factory and equipped it with a 5.2-liter version of their 5.0-liter V8 and it already has a safety roll cage and FIA-certified seats. Production will be limited to just 68 cars in honor of its birth year and can be ordered at an MSRP of USD 130,000.
