Your next Uber ride could take you to new heights, literally. That’s the vision of Kitty Hawk Corp which already has a prototype two-passenger air taxi they call Cora. The Cora has 12 independent lift fans so it can take off and land like a helicopter so it doesn’t need a runway. The prototype plane will be navigating with the help of self-flying software with human supervision. Kitty Hawk is already working the New Zealand Civil Aviation Authority to bring the service off the ground. Google X founder Sebastian Thrun is leading Kitty Hawk where he is helped by X-Prize winning engineer Jim Tighe. Learn more from Kitty Hawk.
